Mr and Mrs Murray
December 20th, I got yet another--and the last--sister in-law. Blaine and Kristin were married in the new Rexburg temple. It was a very nice session and a very pretty day. It was also the first day it snowed in our area. Once the session was over, we all waited for the new couple to come outside for pictures. Paige held the bouquet and everyone got their cameras ready...
Finally, they came out. It was so fun to see them look at each other with such love and happiness... the way we all hoped it would be for our Blaine!
It was SOOOOOooo cold and we only held still for a few shots and then it was off to the car for a little defrosting!
After we were well under way with eating, the couple finally came to the luncheon. Jena announced, "Introducing the new Mr. and Mrs. Murray." They were grinning ear to ear!
While we were eating, we siblings shared a memory we had of our sibling so we could get to know each other a little better. Then the parents and couple had a few words to say. There was a lot of tears and a really neat spirit in that luncheon. I heard someone say, "I don't think I've cried so much at a FUNERAL!" But they were definately tears of joy! Of course, the ride home had to be decorated and it was!
Two weeks after the wedding and the couple had had their honeymoon, we had the receptions. First, there was one in Utah where she was from. It was beautiful. There were a lot of people there but very few we knew, so we hung out at a back table talking with each other while others were getting reaquainted. Since we drove up and back the same day, the kids were less than pleased with the long affair, but such good sports!
The food served at both receptions were: various dessert breads, hot chocolate, water, and various candies. There were a lot that helped with the food and were behind the sidelines. It just turned out so well!
It snowed hard and plentifully that night. We were blessed to make it back home without incident, though.
A man played love songs on the piano all night. He was very talented and it added to the ambiance just right!
The bride and her daddy and the groom and his mama danced a song and then the new couple danced. This ritual was also repeated at both receptions! It was cute!
Cutting the cake----we can't forget that!!! Oh to be in the days of smashing cake on your groom's face again! (sigh) :)

After hours and hours of preparation, the Idaho reception was under way. Now it was Kristin's fam who didn't know everyone there. It was fun to see so many people that came to support Blaine and our family. It always takes my breath away at those that take time out of their lives to share our joy!
One really cool display in both receptions was Jena typed up a bunch of quotes from Blaine and Kristin's journals from when they were dating. It was fun to read them and get to know them better and feel of the love and guidance they had in coming together.
Then Kristin threw her bouquet. Her best friend caught the Utah bouquet and Paige and Rylee caught the Idaho one!
Jamie made their cake for the Idaho reception. They used an electric knife to cut it. Then the smearing began again... the silly things we do to show our love! Haha!
The aftermath wasn't too bad. Mom had all her trusty Rubbermaid containers and we filled 'em up and rolled out! Then a few days later, the nieces and nephews helped unwrap a few gifts at Grandma's house. It wasn't even organized chaos, just chaos but something the kids won't soon forget! Congrats, guys! We love you!!!

Singing concert at Christmas time
Here's Dawson as a cowboy for the "Annual Singing Concert" (we musn't say CHRISTmas in the same sentence as school!). He was ecstatic to dress up as a cowboy! That's what he was for Halloween and we even bought "boots" for the event! :)
After waiting for nearly FOREVER, the kids got up and sang together. They learned all kinds of western songs that they sang. The last concert was with all the grades. This year, they only had first through third, so it lasted just the right amount of time to control the kids in the audience! Good call, whoever did that!
(Note: Even though it's Christmas time, there were NO Christmas songs sang. This separation of church and state is getting a little ridiculous if you ask me!)
