Here comes the sun---nope just kidding

Today, it snowed 2-3 inches in just a few hours. Once it had finished dumping, we went outside to play. The boys made snowmen while I shoveled off the sidewalk. Then we made "snow cones!" We used the new snow and some flavoring and chowed down on the snow. It was a lot of fun! It's not so fun to have snow in April, but we've tweaked an old saying: "when the clouds give you fluffy snow, make snowcones!"

Fun without sun

Last Saturday, we took a day trip to Tendoy and went to a remote area called "Sharkey Hot Springs." I didn't know what to expect, but we threw in some suits and towels and drove a whole 3 hours or so to get there. There was still snow all around us, so it was cold changing, but then we got in the hot water and it was all better! :) I was impressed by the way it had been "built" and how fun it was, even amongst sagebrush! It is relatively new, built in 2002. There were several people there, but there was enough room for us all between both hot tubs.

Hayden and Campbell ganged up on Dawson and gave him a bath! It wasn't too bad, since the water was nice and warm. But the next day, he had pink eye. Hmmmm. Could they be related?

After we were properly wrinkled and got dressed, the boys scavenged for rocks and threw them over a drop off at some beer bottles below. Then we went for a walk over a bridge in the middle of town in their park. All this fun made us hungry and we stopped at the only "pizza joint" in town. Then it was off to home!

On the way, we enjoyed the beautiful mountains and wildlife.

There is still a lot of snow in the mountains, so the valley was lousy with deer. It was a great lesson in "scouting" for the boys! They learned to see camouflaged animals by looking for their white butts! :)

Look at all the white rumps here! :)

YMCA Soccer

I have been promising for a year now that I would get the boys into soccer. I finally followed through and Dawson and Campbell are on the same team (soooo wonderful!) We had a mix up with the coach and missed the first practice. So, they participated in the game without knowing what they were doing. I was nervous but they show some real natural talent, which thrills me to death because I'm the most clumbsy, uncoordinated, slow person there is in sports (even golf!) haha! Sok, here's a clip and a few pix of the first game---dry run!

Cute huh?! We did have OUR official first practice today and they had a blast! And seriously, they both have a knack for this stuff! Yay! :)
