Gramma's newest addition

Shortly after returning from his mission, our Blaine wrecked the Tahoe in a rear-end accident. It was totaled. After filing with insurance and getting a quote, dad fixed mom up with another sweet ride! A Yukon! Hello! It is beautiful! Leather seats, sun roof, and pewter in color.

Here's the before--------
------and after

At the car lot, Mom, Dad and Jamie patiently await while the final inspections are done. Mom enjoys a sneak peak!

After a brief training by Roger, owner of Sunnyside Auto & Car Sales, mom and Jamie were off! Later, dad told mom, "now I will sleep much better." Mom explained that he was worried about him driving a nice car and mom without one--- he takes good care of her! So sweet! Congrats, gramma! :) Nice affording, dad!

Kiddie Golf

When Blake and Bre were in Idaho, we went to the golf course. We got a few buckets of balls and hit them all into the vast open green. The most important thing came first--rolling down the hill! Yee Hah!

Blake and Blaine were nice enough to teach the boys just how to stand and swing the long metal sticks to hit the impossibly small ball down below. They actually did pretty well! It made this mom proud!

There were carpets that the kids were able to use to hit from. This proved to be the coolest way to golf, I must say!

Blake, Bre, Blaine and Jamie actually got in a few "real" swings between the kids' help. Jamie got to show off her developing golf skills. She's pretty good! Of course, I consider "good" as anyone that can hit the ball vs digging a hole BEHIND it! Haha!

At the very impressionable age of 2 1/2, Hayden already had golf figured out:
1. Hold the golf club HOWEVER you want to
2. Your stance needs to be WHATEVER is comfortable
3. If you can't hit the stupid thing, then push it down a hill!

We had a great time! I wouldn't mind doing this again. It was pretty fun just to watch the kids and laugh until my stomach hurt. Thank you! I got in some ab crunches today! :)

Swimmin

Swimming is definately a favorite pasttime in this hot weather! Campbell got a swimming pool for his birthday and it has been the highlight of the wet clothes I wash constantly! :)

July 4th 2008

I had to work the night of the 4th, so we did a quick little lighting of fireworks outside our house, with our neighbors. It wasn't planned that way, but they were lighting as well so we invited ourselves in the festivities. The kids' favorite were the smoke bombs. They thought the sparklers were ok but all the others were just too noisy!
