Boys... gotta love 'em! :) I sure do! Here's a classic pic after giving a round of popsicles in the backyard. The other two are some neighbor boys that "get" my boys. All sharing a common bond!

70th Surprise party
We threw a surprise party for Grandpa Parley's 70th Birthday. We had it on an odd day and told him that Mike was having a neighborhood party and wanted he and Janet to come. He had no idea! It was funny to watch him come into the room and when we sang "Happy Birthday," and he figured out it was for him, he backed out of the room and shook his head. Just the reaction we were looking for!

Parley got many gifts and cards. Janet replaced his lost wedding ring (modeled by Parley above) and the siblings bought him a metal detector that he had shown interest in.

All the siblings came from Utah and other friends and family came to wish him a happy year.

Of course, we had a good "spread" and ate until we were in a "carb coma!"

Gary made himself readily available to test and instruct on the proper operation of the unit! :)

Uncle Mike had rescued a momma cat and 5 baby kittens the week before, so the kids (and a few adults) offered some unsolicited TLC.

The kids mercilessly requested "tickle torture" and some were obliged to offer it. The funnest noise to be heard is the joyful laugh of a child!

After all the fun, there were some members of the party partaking in the tradition of after dinner slumber. It was a really fun day. Thanks to Mike and Ruth for all the preparation and use of their home for our get-togethers! And thanks to Parley for turning one year older. Happy Birthday! And many more!!!

Randy and Lindsay wed
The new Rexburg temple! The day was a bit overcast and windy---weather that locals have grown accustomed to!

The proud parents of the new couple.

There was a tree outside the church that the boys seemed magnetically drawn to! No, boys, you're supposed to carry in the gifts!

The in-laws and the out-laws!

Lindsay just inherited 4 brothers! Strike a pose, boys!

Adoring couple--at the reception!

Adoring cousin, Jena and adoring sister, Jenny

The grand entrance into the new married life! :)

Cute couple pose #456 :)

The dessert table was the food highlight of the evening.

Lots and lots and lots of family and friends showed up to support the new couple!

Have a great life, guys!!

Art projects galore
Art projects are the funnest part of our day! It's sometimes tricky to come up with a project that the kids will like and that involves little clean-up for me. Some call that lazy, I like to call it creative, OK?! :) Here, Campbell and Hayden make egg carton caterpillars! They turned out pretty cute.

The craft box was quite a mess, but has a lot of things we use for projects. I now use it for beads.

Home Depot and Lowes have kids project Saturdays. We like to show up as things are winding down and make the day's projects. Here, we did planter boxes. What skillful little men they are becoming!

My newest hobby is beading. I love to make jewelry and it is being shared by the kids. Here, Campbell and Hayden are making a necklace. I found some big clear beads with a preserved, life-sized bug preserved in the middle! It screamed boy!

Grandma J
Grandma Janet is called on to babysit sometimes. The kids LOVE to have her come! She helps them build forts, reads stories, does tickle torture, and plays anything they want to with them.
They sometimes even get away with not taking naps! The beauty of grandparenting, I'm told, is that you don't have to be the "heavy" like when you're the mom or dad. I am truly thankful for grandparents who give my kids' lives depth and happiness.
G n G Great
Friends and fun!
